Our Successes

ARC Marion client, Jeff Huthmacher, held a special place in his uncle Jim's heart. Jim Kruk was an avid lover of cars and collected antiques and restored them as well including this beautiful 1929 LaSalle.  When Mr. Kruk passed away in 2008 his wife, Charlene, knew he would have loved to have given it to the organizaiton that has helped Jeff for a dozen years. 

Mrs. Kruk donated the car to the Hope Foundation benefiting ARC Marion.  Two friends of the Foundation drove to Ellijay, GA and picked up the car and stored it in a local warehouse in Ocala until another friend of the Foundation recommended we utilize RM Auctions out of Ft. Lauderdale who specialize in antique car auctions.  In March, 2010, the car was sold at auction for $28,500.

Those dollars are now being used for scholarships for disadvantaged developmentally disabled clients to receive services at ARC Marion.  Thank you, Mrs. Charlene Kruk, for believing in what we do!
